1. I am now in a position to report the extent of the defalcations of Chung Tak Yan; The investigations have been prolonged as it was necessary to inquire into each one of the items which appeared in the defaulters lists current when Chung Tak Yan left.

2. A schedule is attached which to the best of my information and belief contains a full and true account of the defalcations, which amount to $6,€12.10.

3. In paragraph 1 of my minute of 12th June, 1926,

I refer to a cheque for $168.75 and a sum of $456.24; these amounts related to various itens in the defaulters lists already referred to, to imprest account and to bailiff's fees. Such accounts, with the exception of a sum of 42 cents which I have not been able to trace to any item, have been duly appropriated to the relevant items and, less imprest account and the said sum of 42 cents, passed to the Honourable Colonial,reasurer, whom I have rendered an account. The sums mentioned in this paragraph do not affect the above sum of $6,612.50. Steps for recovery of the sum of $1,000 secured by the bond referred to in paragraph 2 of my minute of 12th June, 1926 are being taken. I will deal with the

matter of the bond in a separate minute.
